Among all of the mobile browsers currently available in the market, Skyfire is the most respected browser. Skyfire is a mobile web browser for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 and Symbian S60 v3, v5. It is basically a proxy browser that loads the call up page on a server, compresses it, and sends the compact version to the phone. Skyfire features mobile browsing exactly like PC, support for Flash, Silverlight and AJAX, quick and easy usability and simple content sharing. Currently, Skyfire runs on phones based on these two platforms: Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 (3rd & 5th Edition).
Windows Mobile 5.0, 6.0, 6.1 and 6.5
for both touch and non-touchscreen phones
Supported Screen Resolutions (pixels)
* 240 x 240
* 320 x 320
* 320 x 240 (QVGA)
* 400 x 240 (WQVGA)
* 640 x 480 (VGA)
* 800 x 480 (WQVGA)
Skyfire does not run on Windows PDAs that do not have phone capabilities. Skyfire will run on Wi-Fi, however a data plan is recommended.
Symbian phones
Skyfire requires a Nokia S60 3rd edition phone with 240×320 (QVGA) screen resolution or a Nokia S60 5th edition phone (e.g. touchscreen) with 640×360 screen resolution.
